This year we got to carve pumpkins for the first time! Kayli wanted to do a traditional Jack-o-Lantern. Daddy helped draw it on the pumpkin, but they Kayli carved it all by herself! Leia wanted to do a paw, from Paw Patrol. They turned out awesome! But they got super moldy and gross really really fast, so we had to dump them before Halloween!
After skipping trick or treating last year, Kayli got to go this year! Poor Leia got sick on Halloween and couldn’t go, but we ended up with tons and tons of candy still.

The carving begins! We are so excited!Wow we did an awesome job. Kayli did hers all by herself, and Leia… picked her design out from a picture, all by herself!Spooky?!Our first time to the Foster City Halloween Festival.
We got to go to Legoland on the last day before California opened everything back up. We drove from Uncle Jim’s house to Legoland and spent all day there! The last time we went, Leia had to nap so we only spent half a day, but now she can stay up! We stayed until they closed, ate dinner, and then slept in the car on the way back to Uncle Jim’s.

P.S. This happened a long time ago… in June. It’s already October. Daddy is getting lazy. I mean he’s been busy.
We started out with some easy rides like this boat. We are good at wearing masks.And the merry-go-round of course!This helicopter ride went really high, but we were sooo brave.Legoland had a huuuuge playground. This is a good buddy picture. We are buddies.The airplane ride!!! When we went two years ago, this was our favorite! We still like it a lot, but now we are into roller coasters!We loved this ride and there was no line so we got to go on it over and over!Guess if Leia finished this huge popsicle? Nope!Goodbye Legoland!
A month after Yosemite, we got to go to Socal! We left the day after our last day of school, and first we stopped by our step-up ceremony. Leia graduated from Preschool 1 and Kayli graduated Kindergarten! Then, because we are so bad at long car rides, it took us two days to drive to Socal. The first day we stopped in Monterey, ate lunch, played, then drove to Santa Maria and stayed in a hotel. The next day we stopped in Santa Barbara, ate lunch, played, then drove to LA! We were in the car for only 5 minutes before Leia started to say, “Ugggggggghhhhh when are we there? How many more minutes? I’m sooo tired of sitting in the car!”

Meimei graduated Preschool 1 with Mrs. Yang and Ms. Kathleen. She skipped Preschool 2 and now is in TK!Kayli was very sad to graduate Kindergarten with Mr. McElroy and M. Irizarry. Now she is in 1st grade with Ms. Mari!Our first stop was Monterey. We did some outdoor dining where Meimei discovered she likes fried calamari! Then we made Mommy and Daddy tired again on surreys!The next day we stopped in Santa Barbara where we ate some delicious McConnel’s ice cream!Finally we made to Socal! We met up with our gigantic friends at a park. Meimei had to leave for 30 mins to poop at Ralph’s, but then she came back to play.
Here are a few more pictures from Yosemite. Our cabin tent was the best. It was close to parking and close to the bathroom. Except we never used the bathroom, we used the travel potty. We need to get a bigger travel potty soon. We also had tons of fun playing by the water! We love vacation, except for the long car rides!

This is our cabin tent! We had to put all our food and toothbrush stuff in that big green box so that the bears wouldn’t come in!We stopped at some cool bridges, and one time we saw people climbing that giant mountain through our binoculars!This stream was so fun, except Kayli stuck her whole foot in it and it was soaked for the rest of the day.We got one kinda okay family picture. This post is just because Daddy took two months to get the pictures off his camera, but at least he found some good ones. We got to do outdoor dining for the first time since covid. It is much better than eating in the trunk of the Prius. We also did lots and lots of walking and climbing rocks. It took us forever to walk anywhere because we always had to stop to climb rocks whenever we saw one, and… Yosemite has tons and tons of rocks.

We drove for 2 hours before we started going absolutely crazy and Leia got carsick. After another half hour we finally stopped for lunch!Yummy chips and french fries… we love eating on vacation!Kayli loves this Mexican food… and chips & salsa!We did lots of walking on logsAnd TONS of climbing on rocks!Our short legs can’t walk very far, but we made it to Lower Yosemite Falls!
We got to skip 2 days of school to go to Yosemite! The first thing we learned was that we hate long car rides and that Meimei gets carsick in windy car rides. When we finally got there though it was awesome! We got to sleep in a cabin tent and had to put all our food in a locker so the bears wouldn’t get it. We saw a huge waterfall and ate tons of pizza.

We saw a deer as soon as we got there! This guy stayed around eating stuff for a long time.It rained the first day. Daddy gave us our own cameras that we used to take bad pictures!We loved climbing rocks!We loved climbing logs, but not as high as Daddy!We found a creek and got super wet!We decided to take our naps like this. We do strange things sometimes.After sleeping for 2 hours, we are still sleepy.
Many years ago, Kayli did not like the beach. She was scared of the water and of the sand, so she could only sit on a blanket. So, we didn’t go to the beach anymore. After a couple years, Mommy and Daddy decided to try going again, and… we loved it! It was freezing cold and super cloudy, but we loved the beach! Maybe Hawaii will actually be fun!

We got to the beach early to get good parking. It was cold and foggy, but we were still excited. Leia was very excited!Super excited!We were scared of getting washed away into the ocean at first but then we LOVED getting our feet wet in the cold cold water!Watching for the waves coming in!
So Kayli got Coronavirus and it was kind of the worst. Actually she was barely sick but she had to stay in her room for 10 days and we couldn’t play with each other or get close to each other and it was the worst! And we don’t know how she got it! Luckily we were super good at not getting close to each other and nobody else got it! Leia had to play with Daddy all day every day, and she only likes him a little. After playing with him for 10 days though, she likes him a medium amount.

Daddy found some new and creative things to do with Leia, but Leia was not happyWe had to eat outside super far apart!
We learned some new patriotic songs!
After we isolated for 10 days, we celebrated with stickers on our faces!
Sometimes when Leia really likes her food, she does a yummy dance. Mommy and Daddy don’t like it when we get out of our chairs while we are eating, but I think when we do it to dance they seem to not get as mad. This one time a couple weeks ago, Daddy tried to copy Leia’s cookie dance and he almost broke his head and we almost had to bring him to the doctor but then he was fine. I guess he’s just old.
