We made it to Oregon the next day and stopped in Eugene. We got to listen to some live music at their Saturday Market, got our nails painted, and of course, played at a park while Mommy and Daddy got boba. That was our last stop before finally making it to Portland!
-Kayli and Leia
We stopped in Eugene where there was a cool market and these guys painted our nails! We stayed soooo still.
We wanted a donut but just ate lots of junk food so we took these pictures instead. We ate delicious pizza for dinner! It was one of Kayli’s favorite pizzasFinally, after a nap, we arrived in Portland. Here is a rainbow we saw right after parking at our hotel!
The next day, we went on a short hike to a beautiful waterfall called Burney Falls! It was probably the best we’ve ever seen, and it was a very short hike too. We had lots of time so we went back toward our hotel in Burney, had a yummy lunch with lots of fried food, and then went bowling!
-Kayli and Leia
We started our first hike to Burney Falls doing funny things! We kept doing funny things and Daddy took funny pictures. Mommy tried to hide from the pictures. It was really fun! Kayli looks a little crazy with her missing teeth. And a nice picture in front of the beautiful waterfall!Someone took a picture for us!It was a short hike, so afterwards we had a yummy lunch and then we went bowling!!
As soon as we got out of the last day of school, we went on a road trip to Portland! Since we are not good at long car rides, Mommy and Daddy decided to drive only a little bit each day, so it took us 4 days to get there! We stopped at a lot of places, slept a lot in the car, listened to two whole Harry Potter books, and ate sooooo many snacks.
-Kayli and Leia
We slept a lot in the car. We got to the hotel at 11pm and went right back to sleep! Our first stop was Lassen Volcanic National Park. It’s the worst park ever. There is no playground and it stinks. Here is Kayli with some cool bubbling water, but not happy because it is stinky water. There was snow though, in Summer! And a frozen lake!!There were also boring hikes. This one went to a cold boiling lake that was not very interesting. All the sad trees were burned. Then we drove to our next hotel that had twin beds!!
Leia turned 5 a long time ago in March. We had a Harry Potter themed birthday party… with Paw Patrol too!
Leia had a pound cake for her birthday, which is also the only cake that Kayli likes!Everyone got wants, glasses, and scars to turn into Harry PotterOr into… Hermione with a scar! Then Kayli broke Skye pinata’s head offAnd Uncle Mike setup a zipline at the park!Leia loved playing with her new toys.
We had a lot of fun on the second day and got way better at skiing! We even got to go on the slope with jumps and tricks, and were pretty good at skiing around them. It was so hot, we don’t know how the snow didn’t all melt. We didn’t wear any jackets or goggles, and sunburned our faces and eyes. Can’t wait to go back!
-Kayli and Leia
Leia looking good in her snow bib and unicorn helmet!Kayli looking sporty and ready to ski!We love skiing! We stopped by Fairytale Land in Sacramento on the way back. Daddy sneezed a lot.And then… nap time in the car for the drive home. Leia slept soundly…And Kayli had some awesome dreams!
This spring break, we went skiing at Lake Tahoe! Actually it was a mountain near Truckee. We never saw Lake Tahoe. We tried to go last year but Kayli got Coronavirus so we had to cancel everything. This year though, we took a nice drive to Tahoe with a super fun stop in Sacramento. We ate tons of snacks and ordered lots of mac and cheese that we did not eat. We learned to ski and we are so good! Leia fell off the ski lift once but went right back on and even learned to jump! Mommy and Daddy are so happy that we love this super expensive sport!
– Kayli and Leia
We started out with a long car ride. After lots of crying because Leia forgot her pink blanket at home, lots of iPad watching cheered her up!We stopped at a Golfland and played mini golf for the first time! And got to play arcade games. We got 475 tickets, and used them all to get lots of junk.Sleepy time. Leia turned around 180 degrees and took off her pants in her sleep.First time in our ski gear! We look good, despite humongous goggles.Mommy and Daddy look so good on the ski lift!Daddy and Kayli look awesome on the ski lift!
It was a nice sunny day in San Diego. We ate a yummy lunch of fried chicken and french fries by the water, and that’s where we did our silliest dance ever!
Over Christmas break, we had to use up some Southwest credit so we flew to San Diego! Daddy was stressed because of Coronavirus. We were not stressed. We just wanted to go to new parks! And we did… a lot of them! We also went to the zoo, got Tea Station, walked over cool bridges, ate tons of snacks, ate pizza, ate in the hotel, and ate tons of snacks!
-Kayli and Leia
One of our first stops was Tea Station! They had a good outdoor dining setup too!Daddy never looks this happy! We went to the San Diego Zoo where Kayli loved the animals and Leia only loved the gondola and this lion statue. We always love eating snacks with Nainai though! And with Mommy! We went to lots of parks, and tried to recreate our awesome Seattle picture, but could not.We were much better than all the other kids at wearing masks, and wearing good masks! We made some funny faces when eating snacks.Meimei got angry at her banana. And we did not get covid or get sick, so it was a good trip!
Other than beaches, we also went to this funny place called the Mystery Spot. It is a mystery because everything is crooked and we get dizzy and can’t walk straight. And Mommy got really sick! We also went to a Redwood forest with HUUUGE trees. A lot of the trees had big holes on the side that we could walk through, and one of them we could go inside!
-Kayli and Leia
We look ok here, but Mommy is about to puke!It was super hard to stand up!We love tree forts! We want one for our house. We are so small. We are inside a tree!!!
This year we were planning to go to Hawaii during Kayli’s fall break, but cancelled because of dumb coronavirus. But instead, we went to Santa Cruz for two days! First was a stop at Gilroy Gardens at night where they had super cool Halloween decorations! Then lots of beaches, snacks, and junk food. Lots of french fries. We love vacation! Except the driving part.
-Kayli and Leia
